MURAL for MILLE LIRE Restaurant
I was honored to be asked to paint a dining room mural and several smaller artworks for a gorgeous new Italian restaurant in Dallas, Texas. Mille Lire is co-owned by chef Giuliano Matarese and Brian Ellard. The graphic is based on an Italian bank note and is “signed” by the chef and co-owner.
This 6' x 8' mural was inspired by a vintage Italian banknote that chef Giuliano provided.
Earth tones of warm brown and cinnamon are used throughout the restaurant, and reflected in the mural.
I created a stencil for the bottom border to ensure a uniform pattern across the width of the mural.
Required signage was designed and applied to blend in with the existing structures and decor.
The women's and men's restrooms are designated with 8 in. x 10 in. murals inspired by Italian coins.
"Wash Your Hands" chalkboards were executed for each restroom.
